With partners Miridae, Office of Kat Taylor (OKT), and Insight Garden Program, we’re building Oki Park Farm, a thriving urban garden that will promote environmental learning, produce fresh fruits and vegetables, and provide job training to individuals affected by the criminal justice system.

Community Water Center joined a broad coalition of water advocates to push for the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund. The fund is a vital part of the Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resilience (SAFER) program and promises $1.4 billion over 10 years for safe drinking water solutions for disadvantaged California communities.
After recognizing the need for local nonprofits to have their voices heard at the state legislative level, NextGen Policy and the California Association of Nonprofits (CalNonprofits) formed a partnership to hold advocacy workshops across the state.
NextGen Policy and Student Debt Crisis partner together to empower student debt borrowers to share their stories, advocate to change the broken student loan system and provide direct service to help borrowers figure out their student debt situation.

NextGen Policy partnered with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) to encourage philanthropic, business and community leaders across the state to invest in an accurate 2020 Census count.
In Fall 2020, faculty affiliated with Sacramento State’s new Center on Race, Immigration and Social Justice joined with municipal leaders, community activists, non-profit organizations, regional artists, Sacramento State students, administrators and staff to generate collective power for social justice, and to amplify the voices of activists across the Sacramento Region.
