Kami Peer

Policy Associate

Kami Peer is a Policy Associate who works on climate resilience, environmental justice, and digital access – equity issues that disproportionately affect California’s most vulnerable and underserved communities. Her specific issue areas of expertise include climate-smart transportation policy, clean energy, and universal broadband access.

Kami has prior work experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors advancing progressive policies and programs. In addition to advancing NextGen Policy’s priorities, she also works part-time as an Advocacy Associate with Common Sense Media (CSM), a nonprofit organization which advocates for kids’ well-being in the digital age. Her work with CSM encompasses both federal and state policies related to broadband deployment, online protections, and media literacy among children and young people.

Kami holds a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science and Management and a Minor in Geographic Information Systems from the University of California, Davis. In her spare time, she loves traveling, painting, and the outdoors.
