NextGen Policy’s Executive Director, Arnold Sowell Jr., Issues A Statement on the One Year Anniversary of the US Supreme Courts' Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade

“One year ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade, a decision ending a 50-year precedent which constitutionally protected the right to choose,” said Arnold Sowell Jr., Executive Director at NextGen Policy. “The NextGen team fights to uphold everyone’s right to make personal choices about their own bodies and this decision continues to send devastating reverberations across our entire country. California stands as a beacon for the freedom of choice and we proudly supported SB 345 (Skinner), which expanded landmark protections in both reproductive healthcare and gender-affirming care to patients from states where such care may be prohibited. We mark this day as a reminder of our unwavering commitment to push forward with every fiber of our being to restore this right.”
