We have heard the disgusting news of the anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, racist, homophobic and antisemitic comments of LA city councilmembers Nury Martinez, Kevin de Leon, Gil Cedillo and former labor leader Ron Herrera. These conversations were deeply disturbing, horrifically painful, and called into question the fair representation of the constituents of Los Angeles. No matter the past contributions of each of these figures, there is no place for bigoted collusion among our elected officials and representatives. It is clear that Councilmembers Nury Martinez, Kevin de Leon and Gil Cedillo are unfit for office and as such, we are calling for their immediate resignation.
