Ensure California Continues to Invest in Recruiting and Upskilling School Food Professionals!

California state policymakers are currently making decisions around next year’s state budget, and we need your help to ensure that the California Healthy School Food Pathway (HSFP) program continues to be funded! While the Governor’s and Assembly’s budget proposals include funding for HSFP, the Senate’s budget proposal cuts future funding, placing the program at risk.

The Healthy School Food Pathway program is the nation’s first state- and federally registered apprenticeship initiative focused on training school food professionals in preparing and serving healthy, freshly made school meals. The program is helping strengthen California’s school food workforce, create meaningful career pathways for a workforce primarily made up of women and women of color, and ensure students across the state have access to nutritious meals that support their health and success in the classroom.

Tell Senate leaders why investing in our next generation of school food leaders and ensuring students are well nourished and ready to learn is so important!
