In a recent article, George Skelton of the LA Times writes: “It’s simply not a good look for technology innovator California when education-eager children from low-income families must sit with their laptops outside a Taco Bell to access Wi-Fi for remote classwork.” For too long, internet service providers have shut out many Californians — disproportionately Black and Latino communities — from accessing the high-speed internet they need to participate in today’s digital world.
